Weightless was inspired by a late-afternoon visit to Coolum Beach on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

As the day was coming to an end, the coastal banksias (Banksia integrifolia) caught the last of the afternoon light, their leaves almost sparkling against the sky. Behind them, enormous clouds were illuminated by a soft, peach-coloured glow.

I was drawn to the contrast between the delicate light catching the banksias and the immense clouds drifting above. There was something so peaceful about that moment, and I wanted to capture that fleeting sense of lightness and atmosphere as the day drew to a close.
